Dear Community,
Happy Friday! This week’s email will focus on brief COVID-19 community reminders and some COVID-19 statistics provided by the CDC for some positive news: COVID-19 cases and hospitalization rates continue to decrease.
COVID-19 Reminders:
- All individuals on campus, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a face covering/mask while indoors
- Pitzer’s COVID policies are to be followed regardless of changes discussed by LA county
- Pitzer is discussing and evaluating the updated mask mandate put into place by Governor Newsom and we will update the community if anything changes
- When worn consistently and properly, N95’s provide the highest level of protection from particles, including the virus that causes COVID-19
- N95’s are effective in protecting yourself from particles, even when others around you are not wearing face coverings
- If you would like an N95, they are offered, available, and provided by Pitzer College
- N95’s are available in the Student Affairs office, facilities and the nurse clinic
- For COVID-19, a close contact is anyone who was less than 6 feet away from you for a combined total of 15 minutes or more over a 24 hour period.
- The college is working diligently with health care professionals and contact tracers to ensure all close contact are being contacted by either SHS or by Nurse Zephyr
United States COVID-19 Statistics:
- The current 7-day average of daily new COVID cases decreased 43.0% compared to the last 7-day average
- New hospital admissions for COVID-19 decreased 28.8% compared to the last 7-day average
See below the isolation summary as of Friday 02/18/2022
- Total Students Currently in Isolation: 7
- Total Staff/Faculty Currently in Isolation: 0
I hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend! As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
Warm Regards,
Nurse Zephyr
