Hi Everyone,
We have had some questions regarding the service being provided Spring Semester, so we put together some brief questions and answers. Please continue to reach out to me with your questions.
- Are the hours in McConnell being reduced?
No. McConnell is going back to the pre-COVID standard hours due to lack of use with the continuous dining services (open in between meals). We are actually expanding a few of our mealtimes by staying open an additional 30 minutes for lunch, brunch, and weekend dinner.
- What if one box is not enough food?
Please feel free to ask for a second box! We want to ensure there is no food insecurity on campus. If you are struggling with getting food, please reach out to me immediately so arrangements can be made.
- What if I change my mind while in line?
Please be mindful of the students behind you. While it is not ideal for you or our staff to go back and forth in the line, we will still accommodate you; however, do ask that given we are trying to get everyone through in a fast and concise manner, that you decide what you will be eating before coming into the Dining Hall and refrain from going back and forth.
- Can I wait for my friends off to the side, who is still going through the line?
We ask that all students who are done getting their food leave the area immediately. You will be able to meet them outside of McConnell.
- How do I exit McConnell?
Please leave building on the west side (double doors opposite to the cashier). This is a one way in, one way out scenario, and you will be turned back around to exit the appropriate doors.
- Are the white to-go boxes microwavable?
Yes
- How long can I leave my food out before it is no longer safe to eat?
If you are not eating your food right away, it is important to put it in a refrigerator as soon as possible. If, for some reason you cannot do that, it is recommended to not leave your food out for longer than 4 hours.
- Will the Shakedown menu change?
No, we will still have the same items available. Everything will continue to be in to-go boxes just as before, only difference is that students will not be allowed inside.
- What if I have food concerns at McConnell, Pit-Stop, or Shakedown?
Please reach out to me or another manager immediately so we can address the issue in a timely manner.
