Winter Stay @ CCA Logistics

Dear Winter Stay @ CCA Approved Students,

As we approach the end of the semester, we wanted to provide the following details for your upcoming Winter Stay @ CCA this winter break. Please review this information completely and reach out promptly with any remaining questions.  

  • Room Assignments:
    • Current [email protected] residents will remain in their same room assignments throughout the break.
    • Students not currently living at [email protected] have been emailed their specific room assignment as well as moving instructions.
  • Food Access 
    • As a reminder, food services are closed during the winter break and the meal plans are not in effect.  
    • You will need to provide/purchase your own cooking supplies and dishware for use during the break.  
    • If you would like to apply for additional emergency funding for food/groceries, cooking supplies, or dishware through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), please complete a Student Emergency Relief Grant application as soon as possible.  
  • Transportation Access During the Break 
    • NOTE: The Sagehen Shuttle does not operate during winter break. 
    • If you would like Claremont Dial-a-Ride booklets for FREE or a Green Bike in order to get access to transportation around Claremont and to Target/local grocery stores (for shopping/groceries during the break), please email [email protected] before the break begins. 
  • Continued Weekly COVID Testing 
    • Students staying for Winter Stay @ CCA will need to continue weekly COVID testing at Student Health Services.  
    • Winter Break hours for COVID testing can be found here
    • If you plan to spend some time away from campus and will not be able to consistently test once each week, please communicate that to Student Affairs at [email protected] 
  • Support During Your Stay 
    • Pitzer College will be completely closed during 1-2 weeks of the winter break (from Dec. 20-Jan. 2).  Please plan accordingly.  
    • Campus Safety will be operational in case of emergencies. 
    • We encourage you to stay well during this break by caring for both your physical and mental health. Consider reviewing the list of mental health and wellness resources available here
      • Botanic gardens – Pitzer students can get free admission to the California Botanic garden when they show their student ID. Check hours of operations at their website.  
    • If you have any questions, regarding your CCA Winter Break Housing, please do not hesitate to email [email protected] before winter break.  
    • Community Safety:  
      • Please remember to watch out for your fellow community members and report any suspicious activity to Campus Safety immediately.  
      • If there is an emergency or you are locked out, please call Campus Safety at x72000 or (909) 607-2000.  
      • As a reminder, you can still request a Safe Escort through Campus Safety during the Winter Break.  
  • Winter Stay Policies 
    • Please continue to abide by the Pitzer Community Agreement in regards to our expectations around COVID-19 safety.  
    • You may socialize with other students but parties are not allowed. 
    • No overnight guests are allowed. If you are found with a guest/student who is not on the Winter [email protected] list they will be asked to leave campus and you will receive a conduct referral.  
    • Do not move furniture out of your apartment, including bed frames and mattresses or take furniture from other areas. 
    • Please observe quiet hours and keep noise down. 
    • Keep all public areas clean. Including regular disposal of trash in the appropriate dumpsters in the parking lot area of CCA. 
    • Your Winter Break Housing at CCA is a privilege that should not be taken for granted and comes with responsibility. If you abuse this privilege by violating any of the early arrival guidelines, or Code of Student Conduct outlined in the Pitzer College Student Handbook, you will be referred to the conduct process and that may include immediate revocation of your CCA Winter Break Housing.
