Dear Pitzer Students,
In the past week, we have seen three new COVID positive cases at Pitzer along with more cases around the consortium. Please continue to practice good COVID precautions around campus and don’t let your guard down now.
To assist us in quickly supporting impacted students we are reminding students of the following requirements:
- Promptly answer all calls, emails, texts, and outreach from Student Health Services (SHS) and the Office of Student Affairs.
- Ensure you complete your mandatory weekly COVID testing on time AND check your test results immediately when they are emailed/texted to you every time.
- If you test positive, you must immediately check your email and follow directives from SHS/OSA to isolate. Do not attend class, do not go to the dining hall.
Failure to stay in compliance with the above expectations puts our community’s health at risk. Students who fail to respond promptly to outreach, fail to test, fail to regularly check results, etc. are subject to conduct referral for charges such as refusal of compliance and threatening or endangering conduct. The range of intervention and enforcement measures may include, but is not limited to:
- Conduct Probation up to Immediate Interim Suspension
- Revocation of any future in-person class participation privileges
- Parental notification
- Removal from on-campus residential housing
- Pitzer and/or The Claremont Colleges ban
- Intervention and response by CDC officials for community health and safety, individual and College compliance expectations
You are all part of ensuring our Pitzer community’s safety, health and wellbeing this year. Thank you for all you’ve done this year to ensure our success. We hope for healthy and safe end to the semester for all.
Best regards,
Vince Greer
AVP/Dean of Students
