When is Family Weekend?
Friday, February 16, through Monday, February 19, 2018

Where does Family Weekend take place?
All events will take place on the Pitzer College campus. A complete listing of 5-College activities scheduled during Family Weekend will be provided in mid-January.

What is the last day to register for Family Weekend?
Online Registration for Family Weekend closes Wednesday, February 7. You can receive a full refund up until Friday, February 2.

Should I attend every scheduled activity?
You may attend as many or as few events as you wish. The schedule has been designed to give you an overview of Pitzer College while providing you with an opportunity to spend time with your student.

What is the process for attending classes with my student on Monday, February 19 (e.g., do we have to make arrangements prior to our visit)?
We’ve taken care of the arrangements so that you can enjoy Monday’s class offerings at your leisure. Your Family Weekend registration package will include a schedule of the classes offered on Monday. You may attend your student’s class or any other class that interests you. Professors will determine limits on class sizes at their discretion. Class visitations are limited to Pitzer’s campus.

Is my student welcome to attend all of the programs for Family Weekend? How about siblings and other family members?
Of course! Your student is welcome at all of the Family Weekend events, free of charge. Although there is no specific programming for siblings or other family members, you’ll find the weekend’s unique offerings for all.

My student is performing or participating in sports that weekend. Where do I find the schedule?
A complete listing of all 5-College activities scheduled during Family Weekend will be provided mid-January.

What should I wear for the weekend?
All events during Family Weekend (except the membership-only Pitzer Society Dinner) are casual, so feel free to dress in comfortable clothing. The Southern California weather is spectacular in February! However, winter is our rainy season, so plan accordingly. Daytime highs are typically in the 70s and 80s and evening lows are chilly–typically in the 50s.

Where should I stay?
If you are looking for a specific hotel chain, the Ontario Airport area (located less than 10 miles from campus) has numerous options.

I am the parent of a Pitzer sophomore, junior, or senior and have attended Family Weekend before. Is there something new for me?
Absolutely! This weekend has been designed for all of our Pitzer families. All parents are sure to find unique faculty lectures, useful panel presentations for your current year and a completely new experience.

Wheelchair Accessibility
All campus facilities meet ADA requirements. For questions about wheelchair accessibility or other special arrangements, please contact the Office of Parent Relations at parents@pitzer.edu for more information.
