Pitzer College Alumna Jenn Louis ’93 Mixes It Up on Top Chef Masters
Claremont, Calif. (June 11, 2013)—Pitzer College alumna Jenn Louis ’93 will be one of 13 award-winning chefs to compete on Bravo TV’s Top Chef Masters. Top Chef Masters features established chefs concocting culinary creations as they compete for $100,000 for a charity of their choice. The show’s fifth season begins on July 24.
Louis is the executive chef and co-owner of Lincoln Restaurant and Sunshine Tavern in Portland, OR. She also founded Culinary Artistry, a catering business that holds cooking classes for private clients. On Top Chef Masters, Louis will compete for City of Hope, a comprehensive cancer center headquartered in Southern California.
In 2012, Louis was named one of Food & Wine’s best new chefs. She has twice been a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef Northwest award. Louis’ work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Food & Wine, Bon Appétit and The New York Times. Her first cookbook will feature 40 recipes for gnocchi and is slated to be released in 2014. In May, Louis came back to the Pitzer campus to meet with students and share her experiences as one of the country’s star chefs.
Louis is the second Pitzer College alumna to join this top-rated cooking competition; Susan Feniger ’76, owner of Border Grill, competed in the second season of Top Chef Masters.
