Pitzer College Student Featured in Video Series "Young Farmers"

Claremont, Calif. (November 2, 2011) — Pitzer College student Katherine Tenneson '12 is featured in "Young Farmers," a video series which documents her work with San Antonio High School and with its students.

Tenneson, who majors in environmental studies, teaches food justice and gardening at San Antonio High School, a continuation high school in Claremont, California. The after-school program teaches students who have not been successful in a traditional high school setting about gardening, cooking and food politics. In addition, students build a sense of community and leadership skills, and engage in a different, hands-on form of learning.

"Working at San Antonio has been one of the most satisfying and exciting aspects of my experience at Pitzer College. Not only has it put what I've learned in the classroom into action but I've been able to directly participate in the issues that I've studied in a fulfilling way," said Tenneson.
