Pitzer College Receives $200,000 Donation from Robert and Eileen Rominger P'14

Claremont, Calif. (March 24, 2011) — Pitzer College received a $200,000 gift from Robert and Eileen Rominger P'14 in support of the Chicano/ Latino Scholarship Program.

"Diversity of all types—of experience, of ethnicity, of thought—have come together at Pitzer, creating the great environment of intellectual curiosity that we've observed as Pitzer parents," said Robert and Eileen Rominger, "The contributions of Chicano/Latino students have been very important to this environment in the past and we hope the scholarship program will allow that to continue in the future."

Since the scholarship's inception in 2004, 60 students of Chicano/Latino descent, who demonstrated financial need, have been award this scholarship in honor of their outstanding academic achievement.

This gift will help the College provide an additional 20 scholarships during the 2011-12 academic year.

Robert and Eileen's son, Peter, is currently a first year student at Pitzer College.
