Pitzer College Interim Vice President of Admission and Financial Aid to Speak at Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls

Claremont, Calif. (May 20, 2011) — Pitzer College Interim Vice President of Admission and Financial Aid Angel Perez will speak at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa on May 31, 2011.

Perez's talk will center on higher education in the United States, specifically, the distinctive of a liberal arts education with an introduction of the Claremont Colleges and the unique academic qualities of Pitzer.

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, opened in January 2007, is an all-girls boarding school in Henley on Klip, South Africa. The Leadership Academy provides educational and leadership opportunities for academically gifted girls from impoverished backgrounds in South Africa who exhibited leadership qualities for making a difference in the world.
