Pitzer Awarded More Than 100 Fulbrights

Pitzer College Students and Alums Awarded 23 2010-11 Fulbright Fellowships

Claremont, Calif. (May 27, 2010) — At 46, Pitzer College has been awarded over 100 Fulbright Fellowships, sending students and alums to 46 countries. Pitzer remains the national leader per thousand students in Fulbright Fellowships.

Pitzer College congratulates the 2010-11 awardees: Clinton Attaway '10, Danielle Brown '08, Josh Brown '10, Chris Coughlin '10, Hannah Dithrich '10, Solamon Estin '10, Elena Fanjul-Debnam '10, Heather Halk '10, Stephanie Hyland '10, Amy Jasper '10, Jennifer Johnson '10, Misa Kabashima '10, Caitlin Lacey '10, Steven Liang '10, Liz Lipschultz '10, Kate McCrary '10, Nick Perry '09, Maya Rosas '10, Yasuhiro Sekiyama '10, Sean Sullivan '10, Olivia Werby '10, Elizabeth Williams '10 and Eleanor Wolf '10.

Attaway, who double majors in English and world literature and Spanish, will spend his Fulbright year in Hungary.

D. Brown, who double majored in English and world literature and studio art, will spend her Fulbright year in Uruguay.

J. Brown, who double majors in history and Spanish, will spend his Fulbright year in South Korea.

Coughlin, who majors in world history through theater, will spend his Fulbright year in Korea.

Dithrich, who double majors in Spanish and international studies, will spend her Fulbright year in Malta.

Estin, who double majors in political economy and Latin American studies, will spend his Fulbright year in Colombia.

Fanjul-Debnam, who majors in political studies, will spend her Fulbright year in Indonesia.

Halk, who majors in Spanish, education and policy, will spend her Fulbright year in Indonesia.

Hyland, who double majors in political studies and Chicano studies, will spend her Fulbright year in Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

Jasper, who majors in political studies, will spend her Fulbright year in Cyprus.

Johnson, who double majors in theater arts and media studies, will spend her Fulbright year in Slovakia.

Kabashima, who double majors in art history and French, will spend her Fulbright year in South Korea.

Lacy, who double majors in environmental studies and international/intercultural studies, will spend her Fulbright year in Thailand.

Liang, who double majors in media studies and Asian American studies, will be spend his Fulbright year in Taiwan.

Lipschultz, who double majors in Russian/Eastern European studies and media studies, will spend her Fulbright year in Moldova.

McCrary, who double majors in music and English and world literature, will spend her Fulbright year in Spain.

Perry, who majored in economics, will spend his Fulbright year in South Korea.

Sekiyama, who double majors in economics and East Asian studies, will spend his Fulbright year in South Korea.

Sullivan, who double majors in political studies and international/intercultural studies, will spend his Fulbright year in South Korea.

Rosas, who double majors in anthropology and Spanish, will spend her Fulbright year in Mexico.

Werby, who majors in sociology, will spend her Fulbright year in Malaysia.

Williams, who double majors in black studies and sociology, will spend her Fulbright year in Malaysia.

Wolf, who double majors in writing and Spanish, will spend her Fulbright year in Peru.

Pitzer College has been awarded more Fulbright Fellowships per thousand than any other college or university in the United States. Additionally, 93% percent of Pitzer's 2009 Fulbright Fellows studied abroad.
