Pitzer College Director of Admission Receives WACAC Human Relations Award

Claremont, Calif. (June 28, 2010) — Pitzer College Director of Admission Angel Perez was recognized by the Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC) with a Joseph P. Allen Human Relations Award at this year's conference in San Francisco.

The Joseph P. Allen Human Relations Award was established in 1985 to honor a professional dedicated to the principles of equal opportunity and equal access to college.

"Angel Perez was the ideal choice this year. He represents what is good and right about our profession as he understands and communicates the possibilities for and the potential of all students to be successful in college and beyond," said Katy Murphy, president of the WACAC.

Perez received the 2009 John B. Muir Editor Award from the National Association for College Admission Counseling last fall. He currently serves as vice chair of the College Board's Western Regional Assembly.
