Jumpstart Corps Member
Corps Members complete an intensive commitment, of 300 hours over the course of 2 semesters. They make a substantial impact in the life of a young child by engaging in the following activities:
- *During session, deliver the Jumpstart curriculum to preschoolers twice weekly, for 2 hours each
- *Participate in weekly virtual Team planning Meetings (3 hours per week total)
- Prepare individually for virtual Session activities
- *Assist pre-k classrooms 4 hours per week during individual classroom service.
- *Attend comprehensive training sessions
- Earn academic course credit (if qualified)
- Earn Federal work-study (if qualified)
- Gain valuable leadership training and connect with awesome people!
- Serve 300 hours and receive an AmeriCorps education award of up to $1,175
Members dedicate 10-15 hours per week to Jumpstart related activities.

Team Leader
Team Leaders complete an intensive commitment, of 300 hours over the course of 2 semesters. They make a substantial impact in the life of a young child by engaging in the following activities:
- *Lead a team of Claremont College students who provide educational activities for preschoolers
- Facilitate virtual team planning meetings
- Coach corps members to use developmentally appropriate practices with preschoolers
- Build community amongst your team members as well as the Team Leader community
- *Attend full day training sessions
- Attend weekly virtual team leader meetings
- *Implement effective virtual Jumpstart Sessions
- *Collaborate with teachers, staff, families and Pitzer site manager
- Prepare individually for session activities
- Lead a group of 4-6 Corps Members and shape the identity of your team
- Gain valuable leadership training and connect with awesome people!
- Serve 300 hours and receive an AmeriCorps education award of up to $1,175
Complete Team Leader position description
Program Assistant
- Work with the Jumpstart staff to support team’s work in the classroom, assist with trainings, and complete administrative tasks
- Work 10-15 hours a week in the Jumpstart office
- Gain non-profit administration skills
- Learn how to design and run a community engagement program
- Must be eligible for work-study
