Annual Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)

In order to fully integrate assessment into ongoing practices and conversations, program conduct annual assessment of student learning outcomes. The purpose of the annual assessment is to:

  • Make the overall assessment of programs more manageable
  • Allow for focused assessment of one or two SLOs on a regular basis
  • Provide ample time for reflection on a regular basis
  • Make the Program Review process more reflective and shorten the time for the completion of a self-study

Program Reviews

The major purpose of the Program Review is to provide programs with the opportunity to reflect on where their program has been, where they want to go, and what they will need and do to get there. More importantly, it also gives programs the opportunity to:

  • Reflect on teaching and learning as it directly relates to their own SLOs
  • Compare their programs to other similar programs
  • Get constructive feedback from outside peers in their specific field
