At-Home Tests Available on Campus
For most COVID-19 testing needs, home antigen tests are a quick and easy way to find out whether you have COVID-19. You can use rapid tests in most cases, including if you :

Have symptoms (retest after 24-48 hours if the first test result is negative)
• Have been exposed to someone who tested positive (test 5 days after exposure if no symptoms)
• Plan to attend a gathering or event, or spend time with people are at risk for serious illness
• Need to show a negative test result for return to work or school (employer or school district policies may vary).

For the health and safety of our community, please do not administer these tests while you are on campus.

You can pick up your free at-home COVID-19 test at any of the following locations on campus (during regular business hours):
• Facilities Main Office
• HR Office

*Please wear a mask when picking up your test from these offices if you have symptoms or suspect you have been exposed to COVID-19. These COVID-19 tests must be self-administered off-campus.

Vaccinations

Students
Students are required to be up to date on their vaccines before coming to campus. Students are considered up to date when they have received all doses of the primary vaccine series and all recommended boosters.

Exemptions for this requirement will be considered only for documented medical conditions or religious exceptions.

Upload your vaccination (and other medical records) on the Student Health Services Portal
Faculty and Staff
Being fully vaccinated and boosted is the best way to protect against severe illness and hospitalization from COVID-19. Everyone ages 5 and up who’s already been vaccinated is eligible for new vaccines that have been updated to restore protection and target the Omicron variant. Get yours this fall.

Vaccinations are available through your primary medical care provider.

You can also search for COVID-19 Vaccine locations near you by using this link: https://www.vaccines.gov/search/

Note that some locations hours may vary, some may require appointments, and some have age limitations when vaccinating children. Contact the location nearest you to find out more information.

To submit your proof of vaccination, please contact our Human Resources Department ([email protected]).

Isolation/Quarantine

Students
Students who test positive for COVID-19 must remain in isolation for 5-10 days as determined by the campus contact tracing team. In this circumstance, students will not be able to attend class.

Student Affairs staff will work closely with students who test positive for COVID to place them in isolation with a peer or to isolate in place along with positive suite/roommates.

We recognize some students prefer to exercise the option to isolate off-campus at the residence of their family or a friend, and we will continue to grant waivers for students who prefer this option.

In the event that a student needs to be isolated or quarantined for a period of time, their professors will work with the student, their adviser, the Office of Student Affairs, and the Dean of Faculty’s Office to help them to continue their work or do extra-credit work (health permitting).

Faculty will be notified by the Pitzer Student Affairs Office when a Pitzer student tests positive and enters quarantine/isolation. Pitzer Academic Support Services will assist with appropriate accommodations, as needed.

If you have an urgent medical need, please call Campus Safety at 909.607.2000, or dial 911 in case of a medical emergency.
Faculty and Staff
Pitzer will be following the isolation guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), please visit their website for details. Employees who test positive for COVID-19 must self-isolate for 5 days.

You may end isolation and return to campus after day 5, if:
• Your symptoms are mild and improving, AND
• You are fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication).

If you do not meet the criteria above after the 5th day, continue to isolation until your symptoms are mild and improving and you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.

If you are experiencing severe symptoms or have any difficulty breathing, contact your primary medical care provider.
