When the house was first being refurbished, the original Grove House Committee (at that time known as the Zetterberg Committee) decided it would be important to have a student caretaker to look after, manage and live inside the Grove House.
The caretaker fulfills many roles such as a social chair, kitchen staff, student-faculty-staff-administration liaison, organizer, housekeeper and more. The job is a year-long commitment filled by any senior at Pitzer College. Students apply for the position at the end of their junior year and applications are reviewed by Zenia Gutierrez and the current caretaker. The Grove House caretaker must be someone who respects the space and makes the Grove House an inviting, safe and loving environment for all.
