Sandy Hamilton received her BA from Pitzer College as a First-Gen New Resources student and her M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Claremont Graduate University. She began her career at Pitzer in 1987 working in the Dean of Faculty’s office, where she performed such functions as faculty assistant, managing the instructional budget, compiling the Pitzer catalogue and curriculum, serving as Dean of Faculty rep to the Curriculum Committee and Campus Life Committee, as well as Associate Director of Institutional Research. In 2012, when the Office of Fellowships and Scholarships became a part of the Institute for Global-Local Action and Studies (IGLAS), she became the Associate Director and Senior Administrator for IGLAS. Her avocation is volunteering in the community with her Norwich terriers that are certified as therapy and Reading Education Assistance Dogs. She has spent many hours going to nursing homes, going to the local library where children come and read to the dogs and de-stressing days for students at local colleges before finals.
