Join us for the Storyteller’s Film, Poetry & Arts Festival featuring local artists, filmmakers, and poets including Pitzer’s first Artist-Activist in Residence, Pomona Poet Laureate, David Judah 1.

DAY ONE •  FRIDAY:

10 AM – Kicking off Fridays’ events is the Chican@-Latin@ Film Fest,  hosted by Dr. Lani Cupchoy’s Digitizing Testimonies course with Keynote Luis J. Rodriguez and Poet-Authors David Romero & Matt Sedillo. (Benson)

12 PM – Indigitize Youth Media Arts & Activism presents poetry books & book signing hosted by Sherman Indian High School and Media Arts for Social Justice – with Lorene Sisquoc & David Judah 1 (Benson)

1:30 PM – Poet Laureate Panel – Pitzer Artist-in-Residence David Judah 1 Oliver & Luis Rodriguez (Benson)

3 PM  LionLike MindState Open Mic – Hosted by David Judah 1, Ces One & Treesje M. Powers (McConnell Apron)

6 PM – 909 Film Festival – hosted by Media Studies & Media Arts for Social Justice (Benson)

8 PM –  Latine Student Union Open Mic – hosted by LSU (McConnell Apron)

10 AM- 8 PM – Arts Vendors (Mounds)  

12-8 PM – Food Trucks (Clock Tower)

DAY TWO • SATURDAY:

10 AM – Writing Workshop – hosted by Poet Laureate David Judah 1 Oliver & the Writing Center (McConnell Living Room)

10 AM – 8 PM – Visual Arts Exhibition – All-Day with judging at 5 pm (Outdoor Tents)

11 AM – Hip Hop Concert – hosted by LionLike MindState with Noah James, Triune/The Combine, Judah1, and Cess One (McConnell Apron)

12 PM – Acoustic Open Mic for singers & musicians, hosted by Superb (Grove House – Outdoor Classroom)

2 PM – Art for Healing Showcase –  with David Judah 1, Bess Kepp, Superb, Matt,  & Treesje M. Powers  (McConnell Apron)

3:30 PM – LGBTQ Open Mic – (Grove House – Outdoor Classroom)

5 PM – Asian Pacific American Coalition Open Mic – hosted by APAC. (Grove House – Outdoor Classroom)

8:00 PM – Poetry Slam & Awards. (McConnell Apron)

10 AM – 8 PM – Arts Vendors (mounds)  

12-8 PM – Food Trucks (clock tower)

This Latinx Film, Arts, and Poetry Festival features social justice-driven community-based projects from Dr. Lani Cupchoy’s CHLT 55 Digitizing Testimonios course, Claremont Colleges Chicanx Latinx Students, and K-12 partners.
