In recognition of Earth Day 2019 (Monday, April 22) Pitzer and The Claremont Colleges will conduct a base interruptible program test at all campuses except KGI. The test will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and is designed to assess the ability of the colleges to reduce electrical consumption in the event of an actual power emergency.
During the event, the facilities managers at each campus will shed as much load as possible by adjusting lighting levels and air conditioning.
We are asking our campus community to help us reduce our electrical footprint during this time by conserving electrical power to the maximum extent possible. Please turn off all non-essential lighting, as well as any office computers or office equipment that are not immediately needed.
Please note that this is merely a request to reduce usage. There will be no interruption in electrical power. We will advise you when the test concludes.
