The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program is a Japanese government-sponsored program that brings people from around the world to live and work in Japan for 1 to 5 years. Most participants are Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) working in public school classrooms across Japan to teach English and share their cultures with local students. Others participate as Coordinators of International Relations translating and planning events in local government offices. While a bachelor’s degree is required to participate, anyone planning to graduate the following spring, with any major, is welcome to apply. Even if graduation is not directly on the horizon, this session is a great chance to learn about the program and get a head start on the application process.
