About Doug Warner
Doug is a passionate and hands-on business leader who has spent his career in the private sector working in startup and growing businesses backed by venture capitalists and within large global corporations. Throughout his career he has found himself at the intersection of the perfect storm created by disruptive technologies and global trends washing up and over traditional industries. From 2013 to this past summer Doug served as Chief Futurist and Global Head of Technology & Strategy at HP, Inc. As the company’s lead futurist, Doug and his teams focused on identifying and understanding key global trends and their implications on the future of how people will live and work in the years to come. They also focused on the implications of accelerating rates of change on businesses, governments, and communities. Since leaving HP in Summer 2019, Doug has been Senior Vice President of Operations for Vonage, Inc, a technology company best known for popularizing voice-over Internet calling in the early 2000s. Vonage’s primary business today is enabling companies to integrate text messaging, voice and video into their apps and websites. If you recently called your ride-sharing driver from within a ride-sharing App, received an SMS message and PIN to authenticate your identity, or engaged with a company’s chat-based customer support, you were probably using Vonage.
