Distilling Your Message: Communicating Your Research to a General Audience

In this day and age, you have to do more than conduct incredible research, you have to be able to communicate it. This interactive workshop will show you how to take complex ideas and organize them into an accessible format where people, no matter their background, can engage with your work. Come and learn how to distill your research into a clear and engaging message.

Bri McWhorter is the founder of Activate to Captivate where she teaches communication techniques from an actor’s point of view. She specializes in public speaking, interpersonal communications, and interview techniques. She is a presentation coach for nonprofits, corporations, and universities including UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara and University of Arizona. She coaches speakers for TEDx events, keynote speeches and conferences. She has an MFA in Acting from UC Irvine and a BA in Theater and Performance Studies from UC Berkeley.
