Pitzer Pathfinder: Debbie Lieberman ’07
Deborah Lieberman ’07 is jump-starting education for young children and credits Pitzer with helping her find her path. Today, as Program Director at Jumpstart, she is working to close the education gap in early education. “Pitzer,” she says, “taught me that your education can benefit others.”
Deborah went to Pitzer and discovered the importance of sustainable social change. Pitzer believes in Deborah and the path she has taken.

Elaine Waldman ’90 is an angel in a city of angels. She loves her career and it shows. A member of Pitzer's Class of 1990, Elaine discovered life-changing truths about herself at Pitzer and went on to practice her commitment to community mobilization for disease prevention. “Pitzer changed my life. I gained a state of being that is unafraid.”

Joshua Brown is the teacher we all wish we had. He loves his job and it shows. A member of Pitzer's Class of 2010, Josh believes in serving the greater good and practices his commitment every day. "Pitzer has been instrumental in developing the skills I need for my job," he says of his alma mater.

Meet a Pitzer Student: Meet Meng Xu
Meng Xu ’14 studied abroad twice during college: for one semester in Tokyo, Japan and for seven semesters in Claremont, USA. Originally from Shanghai, China, Xu is one of nine international students who graduated from Pitzer College in May. Just as many students travel to Nepal or Costa Rica during college, Xu came to Pitzer to learn a foreign language and experience a culture different from his own. He viewed his initial discomfort as a desirable inevitability—a kind of prerequisite for a global education.
