Pitzer College Named a 2018 Best College Value by Kiplinger

Brant Clock Tower and the Grove HouseClaremont, Calif. (January 02, 2018) —Pitzer College ranks #29 Best Liberal Arts College and #53 overall nationally in Kiplinger’s 300 Best College Values for 2018. Introduced in 1998, the rankings now combine public schools, private universities and private liberal arts colleges into a single, comprehensive list. Kiplinger also ranks the 100 best values in each category. The analysis is based on objective measurements of academic quality and affordability, not subjective criteria.

“We start with a universe of nearly 1,200 schools and trim the list using measures of academic quality. We then rank the schools based on cost and financial aid data. All 300 schools on our list are worth a look,” said Mark Solheim, editor of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine.

Pitzer College is committed to meeting 100 percent of every admitted student’s demonstrated financial need through a financial aid package that includes grants, work-study jobs and loans. The average need-based grant/scholarship award is more than $42,800 for full-time students. The College has made financial aid a primary commitment in its fundraising efforts.

The Princeton Reviewed ranked Pitzer College #18 for “Best Financial Aid” in its 2017 College That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck book.
