Claremont, Calif. (August 18, 2017)—Pitzer College receives “outlook stable and an ‘A’” rating from Fitch Ratings.
Fitch says “the ‘A’ rating reflects Pitzer’s strong market position and demand characteristics supported by membership in The Claremont Colleges (TCC) consortium and its consistently positive operating performance, inclusive of endowment spending, which drives healthy liquid resources.”
They credit Pitzer’s “conservative budgeting practices and timely measures taken by management, including a planned temporary reduction of endowment spending since fiscal 2010” for its operating stability.
Fitch Ratings is one of the three nationally recognized statistical rating organizations designated by the US Securities and Exchange Commission in 1975.
