Claremont, Calif. (April 26, 2017)—Pitzer College student Sydney Warren ’18 has been awarded a 2017 Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship to participate in an intensive seven-week academic program this summer at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
With the PPIA Fellowship, Warren will hone her skills as a leader, critical thinker, speaker and writer while deepening her understanding of international affairs.
“The program’s global focus will give me the experiences necessary to create, analyze, implement, evaluate and change policy fit for our globalized world,” Warren said.
At Pitzer, Warren has served as a resident assistant and a research assistant in the Office of Fellowships and Scholarships. She taught English in Costa Rica during summer 2015 and studied abroad in Kunming, China. Warren plans to study international policy in graduate school and earn a law degree before pursuing a career in international diplomacy. She is majoring in international political economics and minoring in Chinese at Pitzer College.
The PPIA Fellowship Program is a national consortium of the top public policy and international affairs graduate schools that prepare college juniors for advanced degrees and careers serving the public good.
The fellowship includes a $1,500 stipend for the summer program as well as a $5,000 scholarship at a PPIA graduate school.
