Pomona-Pitzer Athletics and Nike Announce Multi-year Apparel Partnership

sagehen_nikeClaremont, Calif. (June 20, 2016)—Pomona-Pitzer Athletics has agreed to a multi-year partnership with Nike.

Beginning in the 2016-17 school year, all 21 varsity Pomona-Pitzer athletic teams will transition to all-Nike competition and practice apparel, travel gear and coaching staff apparel. Eastbay will serve as a local distributor as part of the agreement.

“We are thrilled to enter into a partnership with such a leading sportswear brand as Nike,” said Director of Athletics Lesley Irvine. “This will provide a boost to the overall student-athlete experience as we continue to focus on the positive momentum and visibility of athletics on the Pomona and Pitzer campuses.”

The new partnership with Nike will help provide a consistent look for the Pomona-Pitzer varsity sports teams, building upon the team culture and campus spirit surrounding Sagehen Athletics.

“The student-athletes were all incredibly excited to hear about Pomona-Pitzer’s new Nike deal,” said senior women’s basketball player and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President Alaina Woo. “We always talk about how the most enjoyable aspect of Sagehen Athletics is having a feeling of community. It is great to see Lesley and the Athletics Department making such an effort to maintain and improve our experience and opportunities as student-athletes.”

The Sagehen fall sports teams will introduce their new uniforms before the start of the fall 2016 season.
