Pitzer Student Basha Brulee-Wills ’17 Named First-Team All-SCIAC

Basha Brulee Wills '17Claremont, Calif. (March 5, 2015)—Pitzer College sophomore Basha Brulee-Wills ’17, who plays forward on the Sagehens Women’s Basketball team, was named first-team All-SCIAC in a vote of the league’s coaches. Brulee-Wills is the program’s first player to earn first-team All-SCIAC honors since the 2003-04 season.

Brulee-Wills led the SCIAC in both scoring and rebounding in league games, averaging 18.4 points and 11.2 rebounds. She had double-doubles in 13 of 16 conference contests, including her last three in a row, closing out with a career-high 32 points, along with 12 rebounds, in the regular season finale against Whittier.

Overall, she finished the year averaging 16.8 points (second in the league) and 10.1 rebounds (leading the SCIAC) to average a double-double, scoring in double figures against every Division III team she faced (the only exceptions were games against NAIA schools La Sierra and Bethesda). She also shot 47.6 percent from the floor and 70.8 percent from the foul line (74.6 percent in conference games).

A second-team all-SCIAC selection as a first-year student in 2013-14, Brulee-Wills plans to major in biology at Pitzer College.
