Pitzer College Student Autumn Pham ’14 Awarded Austrian Teaching Position

Claremont, Calif. (May 16, 2014)—Pitzer College student Autumn Pham ’14 has been awarded a US Teaching Assistantship at Austrian Secondary Schools.

A double major in European political studies and German studies, Pham served as a German tutor at Pomona College’s Oldenborg Center and speaks German, French and Vietnamese. She received German Academic Exchange Service undergraduate research grants in 2012 and 2013. She has also been awarded a 2014-15 Fulbright to Germany.

The US Teaching Assistantships at Austrian Secondary Schools program provides US college graduates with the opportunity to work as secondary school teaching assistants in communities all over Austria. In addition to serving as valuable linguistic models in classroom English instruction, US teaching assistants contribute to the promotion of mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States of America and the Republic of Austria.
