Claremont, Calif. (December 12, 2013) — Pitzer College alumnus Eliot Baker ’99 has released his debut book, The Last Ancient, a supernatural thriller set on Nantucket Island. The Last Ancient was published this month by Champagne Books.
The Last Ancient by Eliot Baker
The Last Ancient tells the story of Simon Stephenson, a journalist on Nantucket Island who uncovers a conspiracy involving ancient coins and arms dealers. In his search for the truth, he sheds light on his father’s dark past and encounters a mythological creature that is hunting on the island. In Baker’s novel, no one is what they seem—not Stephenson’s tennis-champion fiancée, his hit-man best friend, or a gorgeous rival reporter.
Baker majored in English and World Literature at Pitzer. He earned an MS in science journalism from Boston University after working as a research assistant at Harvard Medical School. He has written for Harvard Health Letter, Nantucket’s The Inquirer and Mirror and Dow Jones Local Media Group. He penned The Last Ancient in Finland, where he is a professor of communications at a university and manages his own editing and translation business.
The Last Ancient is available at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, iBooks and Burstbooks.ca.
