Pitzer College Alumna Ella Pennington ’81 Named Chief Operating Officer of Disability Group

Claremont, Calif. (May 10, 2012) — Pitzer College alumna Ella Pennington ’81 has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Disability Group, one of the largest disability advocacy groups in the nation.

As COO, Pennington will be responsible for monitoring and managing the quality of services each client receives from Disability Group. She will also streamline and enhance current internal systems and processes. In her previous position as Vice President of Operations, Pennington was responsible for ensuring that those with disabilities secure crucial benefits.

Prior to joining Disability Group, Pennington was the Chief Information Officer at Crystal Stairs, a nonprofit child development agency. Pennington served on Pitzer’s Board of Trustees from 2003–07. She has an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and an MPH from UCLA School of Public Health.

Pennington majored in organizational studies at Pitzer College.
