Associate Professor Bill Anthes Publishes New Photography Textbook

Claremont, Calif. (November 23, 2010) — Associate Professor Bill Anthes co-authored Reframing Photography: Theory and Practice (Routledge) with Rebekah Modrak, an associate professor at University of Michigan. Anthes teaches art history at Pitzer College.

Reframing Photography explores photographic theory, history and technique to bring photographic education up-to-date with contemporary photographic practice. It is a broad and inclusive rethinking of photography to inspire students about the medium across time periods, across traditional themes and through varied materials. It is intended for both beginners and advanced students, and for art and non-art majors, and for practicing artists.
