The Claremont Dragons won their first-ever national title by beating Temple 25-19 in the division game at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California on May 1. Lead by first-year coach Jeremy Ognall and captain Richard McKinney, this is the first time the team has entered the nationals since 2005.

“What an amazing accomplishment it was by a tremendous group of student-athletes,” said Ognall, “These players were totally committed to the task and the growing likelihood of success as the season developed which made my job and that of Scott Bracken and Woody Fox much easier. We are all glad to win this one for Wally Cox who developed this program for over two decades and presenting him with the trophy was very emotional.”
