Sagehen Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Receives High National Rankings

Claremont, Calif. (April 15, 2010) — The Pitzer-Pomona Track and Field teams have received high rankings in the Division III outdoor track and field by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA.)

The Sagehen men’s track team was named ninth overall while the women’s team ranked 21st nationally.

The USTFCCA use mathematical formulae to compile a team’s ranking based on an athlete’s or relay’s standing in relation to others in the same event across the country. A team’s score in the national team rankings is a reflection of its “cumulative” chances as it relates ultimately to the NCAA Championships.
