Claremont, Calif. (March 29, 2010) — Pitzer College Professor of Linguistics Carmen Fought and Assistant Professor of Art Tim Berg were selected as the 2010-11 Pitzer College Scholars-in-Residence.
During this semester-long program, Fought will teach a seminar entitled “Waking Sleeping Beauty: Language and Gender in Disney” and Berg will teach a seminar on “Cultural Practice and Humor in Contemporary Art.”
Each year, two faculty members are selected as scholars-in-residence and released from normal teaching responsibilities to work on their research and to offer a seminar. The seminars are open to both students and faculty and center on the faculty members’ own research.
