Claremont, Calif. (July 28, 2009) — Pitzer College was named one of the nation’s best colleges in the 2010 Princeton Review Best 368 Colleges.
Pitzer was listed as a 2010 Best Western College. It also placed seventh in Lots of Race/Class Interaction, tenth in Most Popular Study Abroad Program and nineteenth in the Gay Community Accepted categories.
“Pitzer College is an institution that prides itself on its emphasis on diversity and academic excellence. This year 72% of Pitzer seniors will study abroad as compared to under 2% nationally. We are pleased with this recognition by the Princeton Review and with being included among the 2010 Best Western Colleges,” said Pitzer President Laura Skandera Trombley.
Princeton Review ranks colleges and universities based on institutional data collected about the schools, feedback from students attending them and visits to schools over the years. They also consider the opinions of independent college counselors, students and parents. Finally, they strive to achieve a wide representation of colleges in the book by region, size, selectivity and character.
