Pitzer College Professor Wins Book Award

Claremont, Calif. (May 14, 2009)— Dragon’s Child by Pitzer College Assistant Professor Kathleen Yep was named a Cooperative Children’s Book Center Choice for 2009. Yep teaches Asian American studies and sociology at Pitzer.

The Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC) is an examination, study and research library of the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The CCBC’s non-circulating collections include current, retrospective and historical books published for children and young adults.

Dragon’s Child was also selected as a New York Public Library’s “Top 100 Books to Read and Share in 2008.” Yep recently published her second book, Outside the Paint: When Basketball Ruled at the Chinese Playground.
