Below are the student positions available each year:

BIPOC & Pillar Leadership

Amplifying Black Communities Program Assistant (BIPOC PROGRAM)

The Amplifying Black Communities Program Assistant focuses on strategizing and implement programming that better serves Black students who are currently attending Pitzer, while also providing college access programming to local Black Highschool students.

Encuentros Program Assistant (BIPOC PROGRAM)

The Encuentros Program Assistant works closely with CEC and PEOC staff to coordinate weekly, bi-weekly or monthly lunches/gatherings of Claremont College students and day laborers to provide bilingual (Spanish/English) discussions over lunch.

Direct Action Program Assistant (PILLAR PROGRAM)

The Direct Action Program Assistant provides support through community engagement initiatives with social change movements and organizations. They provide online resources and materials, workshops and much more!

The People’s Pitzer Program Assistant (PILLAR PROGRAM)

The People’s Pitzer Program Assistants works closely with CEC staff in creating programming and initiatives centered around civic engagement. Planning events, creating educational resources, outreach and connecting community are just a few ways students can get involved!

Native & Indigenous Initiatives Program Assistant (BIPOC PROGRAM)

The Native Indigenous Initiatives Program Assistant focuses on strategizing and implement programming that better serves Native and Indigenous students who are currently attending Pitzer, while also connecting to local tribes.

Educational Access Program Assistant (PILLAR PROGRAM)

The Educational Access Program Assistant provides support in the collaboration between Pitzer College, the CEC and courses to connect faculty and students to local tutoring, mentoring and college access programming.

Research and Fundraising Program Assistant (PILLAR PROGRAM)

The Research & Fundraising Program Assistant works closely with CEC staff and community partners on identifying and utilizing Pitzer resources to help the community, such as research, grant writing, and workshops.

Social Media, Arts & Communications Program Assistant (PILLAR PROGRAM)

The Social Media, Arts, & Communications Program Assistant supports community partners by developing and amplifying virtual and in person forms of engagement, planning the annual Storyteller’s Festival, and provides support to the AAIR program.


A reminder students planning on working in the CEC.

  • You must complete your official Hire Form prior to beginning any work in the CEC or other departments on campus.
  • You must enter your hours on Workday after every shift
  • Students may not work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week. You may not work during your class time.
  • You may be terminated for poor performance.
  • Timesheets must be submitted on time.
