Campus Aesthetics Committee Outdoor Art Proposal Form

  • The Campus Aesthetics Committee invites proposals for 2D artworks – paintings or murals – for designated walls and art benches, located on and around the Pitzer College campus. The committee also encourages students to propose 3D site-specific installations and sculptures in The Outback. Please make sure to review the Public Art Policy and Guidelines.

  • Please include the name(s), email address(es) and phone number(s) of any other artists or collaborators included in this proposal or enter N/A if there are none. *Note: If you are submitting this form as a restoration request, there may be other individuals you may be working with who are also interested in restoration. These names will be provided by the committee upon confirmation.
  • Please describe your (or the artist’s) background, interests and/or experience as an artist.
  • Please enter the contact information of an individual who can be contacted in case the committee needs to communicate with the artist during the project.
  • Artwork Information

  • If you are unsure of the title for your artwork, please include a working title for record-keeping purposes on the committee’s end.
  • Include an emphasis on the ideas being discussed/represented.
  • Please include dimensions and a list of materials you plan on using.
  • Art/mural projects cannot be located in Broad Center, Broad Hall, the Gold Student Center or the McConnell outdoor dining area.

      • What is the project schedule/timeline?

        Projects must be completed by the end of the current academic year or the proposal will be withdrawn and/or the incomplete artwork will be painted over.

      • Describe how the artwork will be maintained after its completion.

      • Please enter the contact information of an individual who can be contacted in case the committee needs to communicate with the artist (i.e. restoration, damage, removal, etc).
      • Please note that you MUST notify the Campus Aesthetics Committee if you have changes in contact information. If you are unable to be contacted for restoration or in response to a grievance, your mural/artwork may be removed.
