One Week. One Pitzer.

April 1–7, 2019

One Week. One Pitzer. is a weeklong celebration of community, Pitzer pride, and philanthropy. In support of our students, One Week. One Pitzer. incorporates a giving campaign and a surprise giving challenge. It also coincides with the Senior Class Gift Campaign and the beginning of the Faculty & Staff Gift Campaign!

All members of the Pitzer community—students, staff, faculty, emeriti faculty, trustees, alumni, parents, and friends—are invited and encouraged to participate in the One Week. One Pitzer. activities taking place on and off campus and on social media all week long.

Giving Campaigns

One Week. One Pitzer. Giving Challenge

One Week. One Pitzer. is for our entire community, and the Pitzer College Board of Trustees has challenged us: If we reach 150 donors over the course of the week, the Board will donate $50,000 to the Pitzer Fund. If we reach 300 donors, they will give another $50,000 for a total of $100,000!

Faculty & Staff Giving Campaign

Employee participation rates are often a heavily weighted factor when foundations and corporations consider whom to financially support. This means that by giving to Pitzer, faculty and staff help attract funding for research, professional development, technology updates, innovative programming, and facility improvement.

Last year, 55 percent of faculty and 68 percent of staff made gifts to Pitzer. This is an inspiration to our students, alumni, and parents and a reflection of our commitment to them. For this year’s campaign, Assistant Professor of Psychology Steffanie Guillermo and Assistant Professor of English and World Literature Amanda Lagji are running a marathon to raise money for Pitzer! They are challenging faculty and staff to give alongside them and GO THE DISTANCE for Pitzer.

Class of 2019 Gift

Every year, the senior class comes together to give back to Pitzer. Senior classes across the 5Cs are competing for the highest giving participation rate, and the winning college gets a ceramic pig named Ellen that Pitzer currently has from last year’s victory—three cheers for the Class of 2018! The Class of 2019 hopes to reach 100 percent participation to honor their legacy at Pitzer, give back to the school, and win Ellen. #KeepEllen2019!

Day of Healing

The Office of Student Affairs, Residence Life, Community Engagement Center, and the Office of College Advancement are partnering to 1) bring students, staff, and faculty together to create spaces for healing practices, 2) empower community members to be active agents of support and 3) utilize the resources available to foster an environment of relaxation and fun.
