The goal of the Admission Office is for prospective students and their families who interact with Admission to demonstrate the following learning outcomes:
Student Learning Outcomes
- Understand the holistic admission process we use and the admission application requirements, including our test-free policy.
- Be familiar with the academic majors and minors Pitzer offers and Pitzer’s educational objectives, with particular emphasis on those that truly separate us from other liberal arts colleges: intercultural understanding, social responsibility, interdisciplinary emphasis and student autonomy.
- Know about the residential nature of the student community.
- Know about Pitzer’s commitment to attracting and retaining a diverse student body.
- Understand the requirements for applying for financial aid and know that Pitzer is committed to meeting 100% of the demonstrated financial need for our admitted students.
- Be familiar with the record of excellence of Pitzer faculty (e.g., publications, research grants, etc.) and Pitzer graduates (e.g., Fulbright Scholars, Watson Fellows, admission to graduate and professional programs, etc.).
- Be familiar with opportunities for engagement in on- and off-campus activities (e.g. athletics, clubs and organizations, Student Senate, standing committees, etc.).
- Be familiar with academic and non-academic opportunities available through our membership in The Claremont Colleges Consortium.
