Pitzer requires TOEFL or IELTS scores from students whose native language is not English.
If you attended a high school where English was the language of instruction, you may request to have the TOEFL/IELTS requirement waived.
To request a waiver, applicants should ask their high school counselor to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name and date of birth. The email should confirm the number of years the applicant has studied within an English-speaking curriculum, and attest to the applicant’s command of English at a level commensurate with studying at a college or university.
The applicant will receive an official email from the Pitzer Office of Admission confirming whether or not their TOEFL/IELTS waiver has been granted. These emails are generally sent within 3-5 business days of the original request.
Please note that all waiver requests are considered on a case-by-case basis by the Pitzer Offices of Admission and International Programs, and not all waiver requests may be granted.
