COVID Visit Guidelines

Last Updated June 10th, 2022

We are excited to welcome you to campus this summer! Pitzer has had a successful return to campus this year with our students, faculty, and staff working together to uphold our values and prioritize the safety of the entire community. Operating a college campus amidst a global pandemic is no easy feat, but we are lucky to be a part of such a mindful community. Pitzer’s high vaccination rate, with the latest requirement for booster shots having gone into effect in January, allows us to proceed with campus programming with additional safety guidelines in place.

Our campus is currently at a Level 1 Transmission. As a result, campus operations are being modified to accommodate our quarantine, isolation, and testing needs, and to prevent further spread and exposure. Based on current LA County Health Guidelines, we will begin operating at partial capacity for campus tours with increased safety measures in place. Please see below for our updated visit protocols and policies.

  • All visitors are required to complete a Health Screening Questionnaire when they arrive, and will not be permitted to join events until they have cleared the survey. Once approved, visitors will receive an orange Pitzer Admission wristband to be permitted on campus.
  • Face coverings over the nose and mouth are recommended when entering indoor spaces. For best protection for yourself and others, we recommend a 3-ply medical grade surgical, KN95, or N95 mask.
  • Tours registration is required in advance. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate additional guests or last minute drop-ins as a result of capacity limitations.
  • By visiting campus, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Help keep yourself and others healthy by following our guidelines and being respectful of our community needs.
  • If you will no longer be able to visit us on campus, it is not a problem. Join us for virtual tours, information sessions, and student drop-in sessions to learn more about Pitzer, the application process, and what distinguishes our programs.

  • Each institution of The Claremont Colleges (TCC) will be tracking its own COVID data statistics. The institutions of TCC are also tracking a variety of COVID metrics at the consortium level to share internally as another method of monitoring and responding to the pandemic.
  • As a college and as a consortium, we are monitoring daily COVID positive rates separately for students and employees, as well as student quarantine rates. We continue to consult with medical experts and are prepared to change operational procedures should we see a significant increase in the rate of cases, the number of total cases, or the utilization of quarantine and isolation spaces.
  • Please note that as a result of individual COVID tracking and distinct campus policies, the protocol for visitors is not uniform across the Claremont Colleges. If you plan to visit multiple campuses within the consortium during your time in Claremont, you will need to check the visitor guidelines and COVID policies of each individual college.
