Media Studies Major Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can a course transferred from another institution count towards the media studies major or minor?
Courses accepted from another institution are eligible to count towards the media studies major. If the registrar has approved a course, students may petition their academic advisor. Courses can be accepted to fulfill a specific requirement or an elective. They can be transferred from another domestic institution or be earned as part of a study abroad program. To apply for credit to be transferred from a previous institution, please complete and submit the form below.

2. How can I have my academic advisor apply my transfer or study abroad credit towards my major?
You should provide the following information to your academic advisor: name of institution, dates when course was taken, and a syllabus. Be sure to note whether you would like the course to count towards an elective credit or specific requirement.
