In this session you will be registering by your First Year Seminar group for classes and learning about the computing systems available to you. Staff from Information Technology and the Registrar's Office will be available to assist. It is critical for your registration priority that you arrive on time.
9:45 am-6:15 pm Sustainability Welcome & Workshop

Join returning students as they show you the ropes on how to 'go green' here at Pitzer. Learn
all about the community garden, residence hall green features, how to sign up for reusable "to-go" containers in the dining hall, the proper way to compost and recycle, among other important sustainability tips! You are required to attend this session.

This is your chance to learn about activism and social justice opportunities at Pitzer! Through our Community Engagement Center (CEC), you can help run programs with migrant day laborers, incarcerated youth, women at a local rehabilitation center, or by mentoring at-risk teens and elementary aged children. Come learn about how you can receive your social responsibility credit for graduation, earn work study or volunteer through tutoring, spoken word, writing workshops, gardening, teaching ESL and more!
2-3:30 pm Consumer Confidential: Money Matters

Join Margaret Carothers, director of financial aid at Pitzer, and David Levy, director of financial aid at Scripps, for this informative presentation. Increase your financial competence by learning about money management, budgeting, credit cards, debt management, identity theft and how to make wise financial decisions while in college. Refreshments will be served.
3:30-5 pm On Campus Job Fair

Looking for a part-time job on or off campus? Are you a student who was awarded work-study
and who needs an on-campus job? Plan to attend the On Campus Job Fair (formerly known as the Student Job Fair). Representatives from Pitzer College, the Claremont Colleges and local businesses will be in attendance.

Your mentor will introduce you to your new faculty in residence who live in the residence halls with you! Join them for refreshments and conversation. The pool will be open for night swimming.
8-9 pm Alcohol Awareness

During this mandatory session, you will have the opportunity to hear from your fellow students regarding Pitzer’s drug and alcohol policy, learn about 5C and community resources, and get tips on how to keep yourself and our community safe.
