New Student Arrival Schedule

8 a.m. -Noon
Pick up your ID card which doubles as your room key, and get set for a full day and evening of student bonding and important orientation adventure information. After checking in, you may proceed to the residence halls to start settling into your new home! Orientation staff will be on hand to assist with moving your belongings to your new room. A continental breakfast will be provided.
9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Noon-12:45 p.m.
Student Welcome Program

Meet President Laura Skandera Trombley, other key senior administrators and your student senate chair and vice chair.
12:45-1:45 p.m.
Student Welcome Barbecue
Pellissier Mall (the Mounds)
Hang out with your mentor and meet other students while you enjoy a barbecue lunch.
Enjoy this break in the schedule to reconvene with the family members you brought with you today, continue settling into your room, and socializing with your new roommate!
3:30-5 p.m.
Orientation Adventure Meetings

Your Orientation Adventure (OA) trip leader will discuss specific details about your trip and introduce you to the other first-year students and student leaders on your particular adventure.
5-6:30 p.m.
Pellissier Mall (the Mounds)/McConnell Dining Hall
Join us for a delicious dinner prepared by Bon Appetit. Take the opportunity the reconnect with your family or other new members of the Pitzer community! Seating inside McConnell Dining Hall and outside on The Mounds will be available.
6:30 p.m.

As students embark on the next step in their journey, now is the time to wish your family members safe travel home as you gear up for your exciting Orientation Adventure trip.
7 p.m.
OA Logistics

All trips will regroup to finalize logistics and preparation for their adventure. Some local trips will head out this evening and the rest will depart first thing the following morning. OA leaders will communicate this at the 3:30pm meeting.

Please pick up your information packet, which includes all academic advising and registration information. Verify your medical coverage and enjoy a continental breakfast.
10-11 a.m.
Bridge Student Meeting

All Bridge students are required to attend.
First-Year and Transfer Mentor Meetings
Pellissier Mall (The Mounds)
This is your first chance to ask questions and meet the other students in your group. Look for your mentor’s sign on columns along the walkway between Holden Hall, Mead Hall and the Pellissier Mall (The Mounds).
11-11:30 a.m.
New Student Science Interest Meeting
If you're committed to the sciences or simply want to learn more information about the opportunities available, this session will provide you the opportunity to learn first-hand from faculty how to be successful as a science major.
11:30-1 p.m.
Living on Campus

Fellowship Opportunities, Educational Objectives and Graduation Requirements

Sandy Hamilton '95, director of academic administration and the office of graduate fellowships, will provide information on various fellowship opportunities and tips on getting them, while our senior associate dean of faculty outlines Pitzer’s six educational objectives and how to be successful through your advising and registration process.

3-4:45 p.m.
Academic Advising Group Meetings
Refer to Orientation Passport schedule for locations
Meet with your faculty adviser to learn about academic advising at Pitzer and set up your individual meeting time for Saturday or Sunday. Your faculty adviser will help you explore and create your academic plan.
5-7 p.m.
New Student Faculty Dinner
McConnell Dining Hall
Enjoy a delicious dinner while dining alongside our very own faculty. Take this opportunity to learn about their field of study, courses they're teaching, hobbies, and interests. They'll be sure to ask you the same! Pick up your table assignment as you enter the dining hall. Your mentor will be on hand to assist.
7:15 p.m.
Mandatory Residence Hall Meetings
Pitzer-Atherton-Sanborn (PAS) Study Rooms
Meet the residents living in your hall while playing some fun games and learning everything that you need to know about being a part of the PAS community. See your RA or mentor for your specific location. Attendance will be taken.
9 p.m.
Under the Stars Swim-In
Gold Student Center Patio/Pool
Grab some popcorn, an old-fashioned milkshake and go for a swim while watching a new release on the big screen with the PAS RA’s and mentors.
