Pitzer College Students Receive Awards for Research Papers at Conference

Five Pitzer students received awards for research papers presented at Claremont-University of California Student Conference on the European Union held at Scripps College April 19/20.
Over 40 students from 11 colleges and universities presented papers at the conference. Senior Alexis Spencer-Notabartolo, Juniors Ricky Smith and Jason Gorn, and Sophomores Robbie Block and Jennifer Schmoll all had their papers selected as the best on their respective panels. These papers will also be published in a book featuring the best papers in the conference.
Lexi Spencer-Notabartolo's paper was awarded the prize for the best paper at the conference, for which she receives a full scholarship to attend a summer program at Tor Vegata University in Italy. Ricky Smith and Jason Gorn also received honorable mentions and partial scholarships to attend the EU Studies Summer Program in Brussels.
