Nancy Campos '09 Awarded Latino Health Scholarship
|Nancy Campos '09
Since her days in middle school, Nancy Campos has known that her career interest was pre-med. As she zeros in on her future aspirations, she has narrowed her medical field preference to either pediatrics or family practice.
"I was attracted to Pitzer because it has a human biology major. Also, I learned that I could enroll in theatre and journalism classes. The community involvement and social responsibility requirement also drew my interest," Campos said.
Campos intends to complete the six-week summer External Study trip to Costa Rica during her time at Pitzer.
Pacifica Health Systems Inc. awarded seventy (70) $2,000 scholarships to Spanish-speaking, bicultural students pursuing careers in the health care industry. The announcement was made in September in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The scholarship program began in 2003 and requires candidates to demonstrate a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better and be fluent in Spanish and English.
