Susannah Welch '05 Named Fulbright Fellow to Andorra
Nashville, Tennesee

Susannah WelchSusannah Welch ’05 has been awarded a Fulbright scholarship to Andorra, a small country between Spain and France. It may be a small country (pop. 67,000) but the scholarship represents a great opportunity. Susannah, a daughter of two professors, learned quickly that education was essential to the establishment of personal identity and to relationships with people and the world. During her Pitzer years, she studied abroad in Costa Rica.

Susannah, an International and Intercultural Studies major, will be teaching English as a Second Language and either conduct research or take university classes. Following her Fulbright experience, she will pursue a master’s degree in English as a Second Language. While at Pitzer, she served as a resident assistant, pool lifeguard and a member of the Distinguished Alumni Award Committee. Susannah was also a volunteer at the Day Labor Center in Pomona on a weekly basis.
