Writing Center Fellows are Pitzer students who consult with fellow writers on projects in any discipline. They receive intensive training in the teaching of writing that prepares them to work effectively with student writers.
If you consider yourself a thoughtful reader and writer and enjoy engaging fellow writers in conversations about writing, a job in the Writing Center may be for you. You'll develop teaching and leadership experience while practicing techniques and habits of mind that are likely to make you a better writer.
We seek applications from second-year, third-year, and fourth-year students in any discipline—from the humanities to the social sciences to the biological and natural sciences. You’ll find more information on the job portal ClaremontConnect.
Writing Center Fellows work at least 6-8 hours per week and participate in professional development workshops on the teaching of writing throughout the year. They also help publicize the resources of the Writing Center.
