Susan Andrews

Susan Andrews joined Pitzer's Office of Public Relations in January 2003. She has a master's degree in technical communication and information design from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, and a bachelor's degree in English from Western Illinois University, Macomb. Before coming to Claremont, Andrews served as Associate Vice President for Marketing and Public Relations for Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota, where she provided leadership for the college's first-ever integrated marketing, communication and public relations programs. She also served as Northwestern University's Director of Communications for the Division of Information Technology in Evanston, Ill., where she enhanced that college's image as one of the top-ranked institutions for the effective use of technology. In addition to her higher-education experience, Andrews was an electronic trading systems trainer with the Chicago Board of Trade and the owner/operator of the marketing consulting firm The Writers Well. At Pitzer, Andrews is responsible for public relations and special college-wide events, and for developing and implementing campus-wide integrated marketing initiatives in keeping with the mission of the College.
Laurie Babcock

Laurie Babcock joined Pitzer College in March of 2003 and the Office of Public Relations in July 2003. Before coming to Pitzer College, she worked as Webmaster and Web Designer at Auto-Graphics, Inc. in Pomona, and webmaster and Web Designer at Canon Computers Systems, Inc. She has also worked as Training Coordinator for Texaco Retail Marketing, Inc., Designer, Marketing Communications at ARCO Products Company, and Print and Publications Designer at ARCO Retail Training. At Pitzer she serves on the Staff Council of Representatives and Aesthetics Committee, and on the Staff Recognition Team. Laurie has a B.A. in Comparative Literature and Art History from the University of Redlands. She has three teenagers, two dogs, and three cats that keep her busy outside of work. Her hobbies include yoga, home improvement projects, jewelry making, and crocheting.
Emily Cavalcanti

Emily Cavalcanti joined Pitzer’s Office of Public Relations as a graphic designer in July 2005 and became the Associate Director for Marketing and Public Relations in October 2006. She has a master’s degree in humanities from the University of Chicago, where she studied film and literary theory, as well as a bachelor’s degree in English from Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, Illinois. She then studied graphic design and typography at Parsons School of Design, New York. Before coming to Pitzer College, Emily was employed at Princeton University Press where she designed and edited book catalogs and other promotional materials. She has also taught composition at Elmhurst College and tutored undergraduate and graduate students in Princeton University’s Writing Center.
Stephanie Guerra

Stephanie Guerra joined Pitzer's Public Relations staff in November 2006. Before coming to Pitzer College, she worked for The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin and The San Bernardino Sun newspapers. During her six years at the Bulletin, she designed for the daily features sections including Food and Home & Away and helped to design the Bulletin's annual magazine “Living Here.” She has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Cal State Fullerton. She became interested in graphic design while writing and editing for her college's student newspaper. She has won regional Society of Professional Journalists awards for her designs in the Food section. In her spare time, she enjoys attending Dodger games.
Gabriela Olmedo

Gabriela Olmedo joined Pitzer's Office of Public Relations in March 2007. Before coming to Pitzer College, she was a business systems assistant for San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Information Technology Department. During Gaby's three years with San Bernardino County she updated the department's Web site and documentation. Since 2004 she has also been the graphic artist for California State University, San Bernardino's Environmental EXPO. Gaby graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a bachelor's degree in graphic design and minor in photography in 2004, and continues to take both design and photography classes.
Rory Reiff

Rory Reiff joined joined Pitzer's Office of Public Relations in August 2007. Before coming to Pitzer College, he worked for the Libraries of The Claremont Colleges as Publications Coordinator, where he was involved in designing publicity materials and developing the Libraries' web presence. He has a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and Fine Art-Studio from Indiana University. His current interests and pursuits include graphic design, marathon training, and spending time with family.
Victor Milhon-Martin

Victor Milhon-Martin joined Pitzer's Audio Visual Department in September 1997. Before coming to Pitzer College, he worked as a construction manager, coordinating many building projects in Santa Barbara, Ca; The Big Island of Hawaii; Steamboat Springs, Co; and various places here in Southern California. Victor is currently a graduate student in the Philosophy program at CGU, and in his free time enjoys spending time with his family, as well as pursuits in woodworking and gardening.
Henry Fernandez
Audio Visual Technician

Henry Fernandez joined Pitzer's Audio Visual Department in July 2007. Before coming to Pitzer College, he worked and continues to be heavily involved in the LA electronic music scene. He has studied musical composition and midi programming.
An accomplished musician for the last 18 years, he has owned and operated his own record label, engineered and produced over 50 demos and singles for many bands throughout California and has performed live with some of the best electronic bands in the world. He also hosts an internet radio show dedicated to electronic music and the issues that downloading has brought about for record labels and artists alike. In his spare time, well, he has none.
